Holiday tips we can take from “The Office”

Though NBC’s “The Office” celebrated its season finale this past May, the show’s holiday parties will live on to inspire future generations. And since the holiday season is right around the corner, we thought we would highlight pointers you can borrow from the hit sitcom, to make sure your holiday party is on point. So without further ado…

  1. Make sure you book a caterer or you might be stuck with the road-kill goose. Don’t add the pressure of making questionable mac-and-cheese to your executives. Just choose a good restaurant in the area to cater the event. And ps. It is always a good idea to have a vegetarian dish in the buffet menu, for non-meat eaters and dieters.
  2. Do away with Santa! It seems logical to have an office Santa at the party until he comes to close to comfort to one of the employees. Alleviate the need for a sexual-harassment sensitivity seminar, loose the fat suit and opt for holiday gift bags.
  3. Hire a DJ or professional entertainment. Your employees shouldn’t have to fend for themselves when it comes to having a good time–it can only lead to trouble. Bringing in the pros means no one has to pin the tail on the reindeer.
