For the past 30 years,98.7 KISS FM has long been one of the top radio stations for people to enjoy hit R&B songs as well as classic soul music. To the sadness of many, Kiss (WRKS) has shut-its doors and has merged with their long-time rival WBLS-FM 107.5.
This merger was a result of an agreement made by Kiss’s parent company, Emmis Communications. The agreement allows Emmis to lease out the 98.7 frequency to both Disney and ESPN radio.
As long time DJs and musicians, we are saddened by this loss. We do vow however, to keep the spirit of Kiss FM alive in our music as we rock dance floors across New York and the tri state for years to come.
